An introduction….

13 Mar

Hi there! So I’m not going to lie, this is one of those first boring AWESOME posts where I introduce myself and tell you keep reading this blog…so continue reading!

I’m Maira Garcia and I’m an Austinite, front-end web developer, pseudo-journalist, freelance writer and PR and social media consultant. Whoa. That’s quite a list.

I’ll be hanging out at SXSW Interactive, Film and Music, so you’ll see me all around town. I’m using this blog as a launching point for my random musings, but we’ll start off with posts about this fantastic festival. I’ll also be posting at http://sxtxstate.com, a blog that is being updated by students from Texas State University-San Marcos, where I am an alumna x2. I was in the advanced web design class that utilized sxtxstate.com last year at SXSW and was asked to contribute some this year by the wonderful professor who teaches it, Dr. Cindy Royal. I’m happy to be a part of it again!

Anyway, I’m heading to the first panel of the morning for me – Web Fonts: The Time Has Come. Mmmmm, fonts.

P.S. Before I forget, follow me on Twitter!
